It blooms in June and July and has blue flowers. In Crete we also find the white willow and both species are great beekeeping plants. Thyme honey is considered the finest. Thyme has antiseptic, diuretic, antiparasitic and antipyretic properties. Its essential oil is used, among other things, in toothpastes. In cooking it is used as a seasoning.
