Ladania is a perennial aromatic shrub. It has beautiful pink, and more rarely white, flowers and blooms from March to June. In Crete, depending on the region, it is also called wild rose or wild sage. It is an aromatic and medicinal plant. The stem and leaves contain a balsamic resin fragrance, the oil. This resin is secreted by the glandular hairs of the leaves and has a strong antimicrobial activity and mainly anti-leukemic activity. The oil also has good results against insomnia, toothache and tetanus. The fruits of the plant make a pot that stops diarrhea and with its leaves an aromatic tea.
